Breathwork for Children CIC works in partnership with primary schools to deliver evidence-informed, age-appropriate breathwork programmes that support emotional regulation, wellbeing and readiness to learn.

Our services are universal, inclusive and preventative, benefiting whole classes while offering additional support to children who are anxious, neurodivergent, living with long-term conditions or awaiting assessment.

Alongside pupil delivery, we now offer CPD-accredited training for school staff, supporting sustainable, whole-school approaches to emotional wellbeing.

Why Schools Are Seeking This Support?

Schools are supporting increasing numbers of children who experience anxiety, overwhelm and emotional dysregulation often while waiting long periods for specialist services.

In Swansea Bay, autism and ADHD assessment waits have exceeded two years. During these waits, children remain in mainstream classrooms without tailored support, increasing emotional distress and pressure on staff.

Across Wales:

  • 1 in 5 children and young people have a diagnosable mental health condition
  • 30–40% experience ongoing anxiety or emotional difficulties
  • 67% wait longer than 26 weeks for neuro developmental assessment

Universal emotional wellbeing provision helps schools meet needs early, reduce escalation and support calmer, more emotionally ready classrooms.

What We Offer Schools

Whole-Class Breathwork Sessions

Story-led, engaging sessions delivered in class or group settings that:

  • Teach children how their bodies respond to stress
  • Introduce simple breathing tools for self-regulation
  • Support calm transitions and emotional readiness for learning

Sessions are playful, trauma-informed and accessible to all learners.

Targeted Small-Group Support

Additional sessions for children who:

  • Experience ongoing anxiety or emotional dysregulation
  • Are neurodivergent or awaiting assessment
  • Have long-term health conditions

These sessions reinforce safety, confidence and self-awareness in a supportive, low-pressure environment.

CPD-Accredited Staff Training

We provide CPD-accredited professional development for teachers and school staff, supporting confident, consistent implementation across the school.

Training includes:

  • Nervous system literacy for children
  • How and when to use breathwork safely in school settings
  • Practical, classroom-ready regulation tools
  • Inclusive approaches for neurodivergent learners

This training supports staff wellbeing, builds internal capacity and ensures breathwork can be embedded long after direct delivery ends.

What Makes Our Approach Different

  • Preventative, not reactive: taught before crisis points
  • Universal: reduces stigma by supporting all children
  • Neuro-affirming and inclusive
  • Easy to embed into daily routines
  • CPD-accredited, supporting professional learning
  • Aligned with Welsh education and health priorities

Children learn skills they can use independently, at school and at home.

Alignment with Education and Health Frameworks

Our school services support:

  • The Whole-School Approach to Emotional and Mental Wellbeing
  • The Curriculum for Wales, particularly Health and Well-being
  • Public Health Wales and NHS Wales priorities for early intervention
  • The Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act

This ensures schools meet wellbeing expectations while supporting long-term outcomes for learners.

Lasting Impact for Schools

Reviews

Isabella

I bought these breathwork cards for my 3 year old (and the 1 year old curiously watching for now) they’ve been a really useful and effective way of introducing and reminding my son of the power of breathwork to help him manage his ‘big emotions’. We mainly practice when tantrums or meltdowns aren’t around but instead help him to be a great brother, run faster or get to sleep. We know this will become a really useful tool for self awareness and giving him the confidence to manage his own emotions in time.

Sarah

My child loves his sessions with Sarah and Flo the jellyfish! We’ve noticed such a calm and focused demeanour at home since joining.

Mums these cards are just as much for you as the children! My three year old even got the hang of it so quickly and enjoys the cards.

I have a deep feeling kid and my deep feeling kid really needed these cards tonight. Thank you Sarah!

We couldn’t be more grateful for Sarah, and her unrivalled understanding of what makes children tick. We bought her breathwork cards for our three young children, which they were very excited about. However, the thing that really captured their attention was the little toy turtles that Sarah kindly popped into the parcel. They immediately adopted one each, and regularly bathe and exercise them in the sink. Our youngest now won’t let hers go, has named her Staven, and she goes everywhere with us, even on our two week holiday to France. She fits in the tiniest of pockets, is a firm family favourite and brings great comfort and conversation.
