Breathwork for Children CIC works alongside NHS Wales professionals and services to provide early, inclusive breathwork support that helps children regulate their nervous systems, reduce anxiety and build emotional resilience particularly while waiting for, transitioning between or sitting outside specialist pathways.
Our work complements clinical care. We do not replace assessment or treatment; instead, we provide safe, non-clinical regulation tools that children can use confidently in everyday environments.
Alongside direct delivery, we now offer CPD-accredited training for professionals working with children, supporting consistent, evidence-informed practice across health, education and community settings.
Why This Support Matters
Children and families across Swansea Bay are experiencing prolonged waits for mental health and neurodevelopmental services. Autism and ADHD assessment waits have exceeded two years in some cases, leaving children in mainstream settings without tailored support.
Across Wales:
- 1 in 5 children and young people have a diagnosable mental health condition
- 30–40% experience ongoing anxiety or emotional difficulties
- 67% wait longer than 26 weeks for neurodevelopmental assessment
Many children fall below clinical thresholds but still experience significant distress. Preventative, population-level interventions are essential to reduce escalation and demand on specialist services.
How Our Work Supports NHS Priorities
Our programmes align with NHS Wales and Public Health Wales priorities by:
- Supporting early intervention and prevention
- Providing non-clinical, low-risk tools that sit safely alongside care
- Supporting children while they wait for assessment or treatment
- Reducing escalation and reliance on crisis-led services
- Strengthening integration between health, education and community settings

CPD-Accredited Training for Professionals

Training covers:
- Nervous system literacy for children
- When and how breathwork can be used safely in non-clinical settings
- Supporting children who are anxious, neurodivergent or awaiting assessment
- Practical tools professionals can confidently share with families and schools
This supports workforce development, strengthens preventative pathways and ensures consistency across services.
Support for Families and Caregivers
We equip families with simple, accessible tools and shared language they can use between appointments, supporting regulation across home, school and community settings.
What Makes This Different

Isabella
I bought these breathwork cards for my 3 year old (and the 1 year old curiously watching for now) they’ve been a really useful and effective way of introducing and reminding my son of the power of breathwork to help him manage his ‘big emotions’. We mainly practice when tantrums or meltdowns aren’t around but instead help him to be a great brother, run faster or get to sleep. We know this will become a really useful tool for self awareness and giving him the confidence to manage his own emotions in time.

My child loves his sessions with Sarah and Flo the jellyfish! We’ve noticed such a calm and focused demeanour at home since joining.

Mums these cards are just as much for you as the children! My three year old even got the hang of it so quickly and enjoys the cards.
I have a deep feeling kid and my deep feeling kid really needed these cards tonight. Thank you Sarah!

We couldn’t be more grateful for Sarah, and her unrivalled understanding of what makes children tick. We bought her breathwork cards for our three young children, which they were very excited about. However, the thing that really captured their attention was the little toy turtles that Sarah kindly popped into the parcel. They immediately adopted one each, and regularly bathe and exercise them in the sink. Our youngest now won’t let hers go, has named her Staven, and she goes everywhere with us, even on our two week holiday to France. She fits in the tiniest of pockets, is a firm family favourite and brings great comfort and conversation.
